The magic of form rejections

You read that right! There's something MAGICAL about form rejections. Correction: There's something magical about some form rejections. It's that impersonal greeting at the beginning: Dear Author.

In the agent's attempt to ease their workload, they've given me an invaluable gift. Maybe they didn't want my book. Maybe they didn't want to help me find a publisher. Maybe they didn't read a lick of what I sent them.

But they called me an author!

[Insert mic drop here]

Getting that title of "Author" just seems so right. So poetic. So amazing! Validating.

So, thank you busy agent. Thank you for not taking the time to insert my name into your form e-mail.

Signed,

THE AUTHOR!
